good question. would that make a difference? i'm assuming yes since you're asking what type of engine was in it. which ones would my Rex be able to beat?

You could beat the 6 banger and the low end 302, but you'd be hard-pressed to beat a boss 302 and no chance against the 429 even without posi and on the original type poly-glas tires.

He could beat a 302/6 cylinder/and 351 if you can drive really good.No chance against 302 BOSS and 429 BOSS had a locker rear end i dont know what that one dude was thinking a big block with out posi=gay.

Hey some came that way, the locker was optional. (however gay it may be). I read a Car Craft artical that put put one against a '96? GT and the 429 kicked the new kid's ass hands down (WITHOUT a locker).

I dont know but thta was a built mustang but i bet a regular 64 1/2-68 stang with 289 2bbl would get beat by a 89-91 Si.Most muscle cars only ran like 16's the only ones that were fast were the speclity models ie Roadrunners,SSchevelles,396SSNova,Hemi'cuda,GSX, but those are like comparing a Civic DX against a Type R or a Suburu WRX or a GSX Eclipse.A plain mustang is just plain 289 is just blah like a crappy DX civic
