Anyone change their tire size to 225/70/15? Was it too wide? Ant loss of power?

Thanks!

I've tried it a while ago using Michelin LTX M/S. Took quite a bit of power
away
from a 97 V but other with the 99 all the way through the 2nd generation Vs
don't
seem to mind as much.

It isn't too wide though but mine did rub a little.

Mine is a 97 so I'm definatly concerned about power loss. How are the LTX's in
wet and snow conditions? Do you still have them on? How much rubbing was there?

Thanks!

Ben,

You will probably feel the power loss. If you V has quite a few miles on it,
there is probably some slight sagging of the springs and so you may experience
some
rubbing. You could put wheel spacers as some have done as well but I don't like
that myself as it may introduce vibrations into the steering wheel.

The tires are very good in the wet but I've never tried it in the snow. It has
got good reviews by the Jeep Wrangler folks and that's where led me to get them
in
the first place. I have the Bridgestone Dueler HL on my V now and they are very
good as well, but noiser than the LTX. The LTX is a better tire overall but
costs a bit more too.

For a full review, you may visit the article I wrote a while back. You may also
find out what other's have said about this tire and other tires as well.

Good luck!

Thanks Bing,
Actually my V only has 60,000 km's (not sure how many miles that is) so
hopefully it's not sagging yet. Would you say the rubbing if from the increased
height or width?
