My 2003 Honda CR-V ex has not started on three occasions, all of them this year (2008) with the colder weather. The first time, it did start the second day. The second time it did not start for 4 days and was flatbed towed to my mechanic. After being unloaded, it started and the cause could not be determined - no codes. This last time, the mechanic came to my home and determined that the security system was not allowing it to start. It seems that the system is thinking (wrongly) that the key was not one issued or some such thing.
I've been advised to take it to the dealer -- I'm planning on waiting till I can get it started. How much should I expect to pay for this expected repair to the security sensing system? Anyone know of any recalls? Thanks
I'm gonna be frank abut this and it is the lock solonoid in the steering wheel, what you have to do is turn the wheel to the left and then turn the key and it shuld start...sorry if it is late...but better late then never...
