My Wireless Keyfob does not unlock or lock the Driver Door when it is in the locked state. If I manually unlock the driver door, the keyfob will lock and unlock all other doors, but the driver door lock does not move up or down. I do not have an alarm system. Could this be weak batteries in the keyfob, or is it the mechanism inside the driver door. If it is just a part that needs replaced, I am pretty handy and can turn my hand at anything with right directions! Lately, [my] Honda Dealership wants to levy a charge for pulling into their parking lot! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) I prefer to get the parts and replace myself.

Thank you very much for your thoughts and suggestions? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

Honda tells me it must be a failed/broken "actuator" in the Driver-side door. Can someone share or point me to a source of instructions that will help me in removing the inside door panel so I can examine this myself, and hopefully I can order and replace this part myself. Would the Canadian Tire "Shop Manual" be the best source to do this? Would it be worth calling a "Wrecker" to see if they have the part, or is this the type of part better bought new? Any tips, tricks or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

>>> I bought the Hanyes Shop Manual from Canadian Tire and it only shows how to remove the inside door panel. It has a wee bit about door locking system, no pictures, and nothing about the actuator. That'll go back soon. However, for $38.86 I purchased the actuator and will do the job as soon as I get some reasonable instructions and maybe a picture or two to guide me. I'm pretty handy; it just may take a bit longer. I would let the Dealer do it if they were reasnonable, but it's an hour and a half at $99 per hour. The second time I phoned to confirm the price of the labor, and get the part cost, they changed it to two hours labor. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) When I said the Dealer in the next town would do 1.5 hours, they said they would do it for that too. What a rip off! So all I need now is some good instructions from someone who has done it!

Thank you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)

A video tutorial like this would be excellent! If I get my new [Christmas] camcorder before I repair, I may try to make one.

How to: Replace Honda Civic Si Door Lock Actuator.

Try this link ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heRnJWXixdk

The part number I bought for my 2003 CR-V Driver Door is: 72155-S5P-A11, and supposed to be for the 2001 thru 05 Civic, but as you will see in the video, not same for the Si model of Civic.

Happy New Year all! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)
