Called American Honda about the milage for the first oil change and
the 5W-20 vs. 5W-30 oil question.

They said that the 5000 mile, severe use and 10,000 mile normal use
are the maximums for the original oil to be in the car.
They were not at all concerned about a first oil change as early as
3,500 miles.

They said that 5W-30 is an acceptable substitute for the recommended
5W-20 oil. I did not ask about 10W-30, but for what I understand
about oil ratings I would not use it.
