I am about to take my 2002 in for the first oil change.
So far the only issues that I have noticed are a slight loosness in
the drivers seat track, and the windshield wipers streak a bit.
(picky, I know, but it is brand new).
Is ther anything else people have found?
Has anyone had a dealer fix the drivers seat yet?

My first is coming soon. The only thing I will have him look at
is the headrest on drivers side, it wont 'click' into place and
stay put. It likes to slide a bit.

I don't know if this is the same issue, but with my 2001 se, they had
to replace the whole seat rack. I think is was a few hundred
dollars, but under warranty. I had to make 2 visits though, one for
them to say, oh yea, there is a problem, and then 2 to actually
replace it. The noise is no longer there.

Mine is going in tomorrow.
So far I only have the loose drivers seat issue, but will try
listening for the noise when backing up today, so I can mention it if
it is there. My wife drives the car most days, so I might have not
noticed it before.

Has anyone had the drivers seat fixed?

I have a 2001 SE and had to get the seat rack replaced because it
made noises. This is probably not your case though.

I know what you mean about little things. I had a 2000 vw jetta gls,
bought new, and ended up trading it off. It was out of replacement
warranty after 24,000 miles. I had TONS of problems!!!!!!!!! I
ended up traded it for my 2001 crv se.

Good news is that I haven't had as much problems with honda than vw.
I sorta wish I had waited for the 2002, but every year there is
something new, just like when I got the jetta.

I'm pretty pleased with the CRV.

If you absolutely must trade, the 2 year mark is the best time, after that
value drops considerably until stabilization at the 4-5 year mark. In other
words, the loss in original cost becomes much less or decreases at a lesser
rate.

Searching vehicle costs for the 2003 Toyota Matrix 6-speed and the Mazda
Proteg?5 5-speed for an individual. NO 2003 Matrix 6-speeds RED in-stock
yet, the rare Yellow Proteg?5's are hard to find too. Difference in cost,
about $20K-$21k for the Matrix somewhat loaded (WIERD EXTREME STRIPES - NO
WAY!), $17K-17.5K on a somewhat loaded Proteg?5. The Matrix 180hp (CELICA
ENGINE), the Proteg?5 130hp, but the Proteg?5 looks "hotter" in my opinion!!
Conyers Toyota is the cheapest Toyota dealer I have found, quotes bottom
line prices over the net on in-stock vehicles - very close to Atlanta,
Georgia on I-20.

My buddy had bought the mazda protege mp3 sedan which was a neat looking and
handling car as is the protege5. However it seemed to be quite lacking in
the "go" department. I'm not such a fan of toyota nor the looks of the
matrix, however I think the power factor would lean me toward the toyota in
this particular case.

Let me know how they do with the resolutions of your problems...especially
the 'tension bearing'

Thanks
