Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase a new CR-V from
Canada. I like the EX-LE. It has the colored bodyside molding and
leather heated seats. I have heard that we will not see this version
in the US for another year. What are the ramifications of purchasing
a vehicle out of the country?

you'll prob get a better price here in Canada. but exporting to the US i
don't know. i know how to import into Canada though. try the dmv web site.
should atleast have a link to the proper site. or try the customs site.

I found out from my dealer that the
only way you can buy a Honda in Canada is to register and plate it in Canada
at time of purchase. Honda Canada has an agreement with Honda U.S.A. that
the Canadian Hondas cannot be shipped unregistered to the USA on account
of some problems due to the lower prices. (Apparently, what caused all
this to happen was that a GM dealer in Seattle bought up a bunch of Hondas
from a dealer in Vancouver, then sold them in Seattle at a lower sticker
price than the Seattle Honda dealer could buy them for, and this same kind
of thing happened at Detroit with a Windsor connection). A Canadian dealer
can lose his franchise if caught doing this.

This type of agreement should be illegal under NAFTA.
