After less than 1 month of ownership, the engine light came on.
Turns out, it was only an oxygen sensor in the exhaust system. I can
deal with that. This vehicle is awesome.

I thought the cap was on tight enough (three clicks) but my "Check Engine"
light came on anyway.

Re-tightened the cap & drove around for 200 miles but it wouldn't reset.
Refilled the tank and still it wouldn't reset.

It finally did go off the following day while I was on my way to the dealer
to have it investigated!!!!!

My 2000 Civic EX did the same thing to me, but my dealer charged
me $39 to put it on the computer to let me know that's what it
was. Gee, Thanks. LOL On my '02 V, I took it they looked at
it for free, and told me the part would be in next week, but the
light hasn't come back on, so he can keep the part for a while.

If I remember from the manual you need to fill up several times to make
the light go off. Sounds like you only filled up once. Still sounds
like the gas cap wasn't tightened enough. I personally go past three
clicks.

Just reset the Check Engine code:

In the fuse box under the hood (This applies to 1st gen CR-V, and almost every
other Honda, so I don't know why it shouldn't work with the '02s!!), remove the
Radio Backup fuse for about 10 seconds, then replace.

You might need to have your radio backup code for this. On my '99, it resets
the clock, and on one occasion, I needed to put my code in the radio to get it
going again.
