I have a 2000 honda insight with 63k on it. just recently it has been having problems in the mornings.
It will start then die. It only stays running if you give it a little gas while starting.
Does anyone else have this problem? could it be a fuel issue --> fuel pump & fuel filter?
your help would be appreciated.

it could be a weak fuel pump....once the car gets going, is it ok?

when was the last time it was tuned up? (new plugs, filter,....) If never I'd start there.

Also make sure the throttle body is clean.

The car runs fine after it starts. It does not have any problems starting during warm days.



I am planning on getting new plugs and a new air filter.

if it is fuel injected try checking the fuel pressure regulator
