I have a 1990 L sedan (1st gen) with the manual
A/C controls (all knobs and switches). I've found a
1988 LS coupe at a friendly wrecker place, which has
the automatic climate control (where you set the temp
with a big knob, an LCD shows you the temperature, and
there's a small plastic door covering the rest of the
buttons (except for OFF and the Fresh/Recirculated Air
buttons which are outside). My question is, and I'm sure
it's raised often in the Legend discussions: can I
replace my regular HVAC controls with this better/fancier
system? How difficult is it? What would have to be
replaced on my car? Is the auto-climate control regulated
by the ECU, does it have its own computer in the
panel, do the connectors match up, do I need to install
a temperature probe? What needs to be taken from
the donor car? Thanks for any advice you can offer.
