Ny crv cd stops as soon as it heats up and refuses to play until it
sits for a while. I would like to replce it with an aftermarket but
somewhere I heard that the remote door sensors are tied to the
stereo, does anyone know if this is the case?

With my 2003 CRV I was given a barcode which must be scanned before that CD player can be installed in another vehicle -- a theft prevention measure.

Not in the first generation models for sure as I have my stock headunit
removed and remote keyless entry is working just fine. Not sure about 2nd
generation CR-Vs.
