Hello,

I have a 1995 Honda Civic LX that has had a heating problem all winter. The heat blows warm (but not very hot) at higher speeds, but when driving at slower speeds and stop and go conditions, the air becomes very cool. After a lot of driving, the engine temp begins to overheat.

I have had the radiator replaced, thermostat replaced, coolant flushed, and water pump replaced, at the suggestions of a few different people. None of this fixed the problem.

Does anyone have any other ideas? I am becoming poor trying to stay warm this winter!!

I hope you can find some responses for your problem on http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/cars-trucks/. What all expected to be checked are already done so it is better to go to your nearest dealer or mechanic to get your problem fixed.

Could it have something to do with the heating core? Just a thought. That was one I seen you didn't mention.

Thanks for the responses. We are not 100% sure, but it was probably the head gasket. The car went belly up yesterday. I haven't had a chance to figure out exactly what happened, but a mechanic friend who had a chance to peek at it quickly said the engine was probably toast.

The guy who fixed most of the things I described previously thought that it might be the head gasket, and we were on our way to have it checked out when things escalated.

sorry to hear that if you are still looking in to it then you might want to check where your heater core comes into the engine bay and see if the wire to open and close the water going to it is connected its just right and below the batt. location next to the charcoal canister. cant miss ittwo hoses come out of the firewall. im leaking a little water into mine as well but its affecting my temp. im gettin ready to a min me swap when i replace the head gasket but my leak isnt that bad either
