pls help I have a 1988 honda accord that seems great except when you are crusing usually at 45 to 60 mph the eng and trans seem to dissengauge with a grinding sound . pushing the clutch in stops the noise and if you slow down you can get to reengauge? some times while driving the trans will "skip" prior to the above described problem. when it happens the speedo responds to engine speed and tach still works. The grinding sound is like spline slipping sound, possible input shaft. I am just wondering if anyone has encountered this befor I rip the tranny out? any help would be greatly appriciated. oh yeah it is a manual 5 spd.
