I heard last night on the evening news that the Honda Civic was the best selling car in Canada for the last then years straight.

The report said that safety concerns played a part in the Civic's popularity. I wonder at which model year that became a real selling feature?

Yeah I did check out the news, especially the annual sales were also good. Many of them prefer Civics for their reliability & mileage I guess. We brought it for one reason even if we plan to sell in future and go for a new model or Honda still the resale value would be good enough for Civic models.

I had not seen this yet but it doesn't surprise me. I do know that they seem to go and go and it takes awhile before you have to do any major work on them. That is a plus in my book.

It really wouldn't surprise anyone who have good idea about Honda cars & their reputation in the market. My colleague sold his old Civic which he brought some 10 yrs back and now he purchased a new Civic and didn't want to go for any other car for sure.

I think that there's a Honda assembly plant here in Ontario.

If there is, then that's good for the local economy where the plant is. I guess the major US car plants aren't doing so well these days.

Honda Civic's got a broad range of safety features, such as antilock brakes, front-seat side airbags and full-length side-curtain airbags. No wonder it would make such a great impact in canada.

Safety, yes.. but I think it's the resale value IMHO.
