DO ANY OF YOU OWN AN (07 ACCORD V6) WITH GREAT GAS MILAGE? I BOUGHT THIS CAR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO and so far I'm not impressed with the gas milage. I had an 04 (4 cyl.) previously and it got about 23 mpg around town. The v6, about 16mpg! Honda claims 19 mpg but mine is not close! Regardless I love this car, it is my 10th accord. Honda for life!

Hi

No one else has answered so Il step in. I have a 93 Accord with a 4 that gets about 26 mpg in town.

May I assume that this car is fairly tuned still?

In my reading I find that many Honda owner report the same thing about the v6 , IE Low mpg. But its not 100% Honda fault. It might be that gas they make Us burn in the USA. 5 - 25 % grain alcohol. Now most people would tell you a v6 will run great on regular but it just isnt true. With the really bad gas they sell us now you would be better off using plus. And if your using super thats just as bad. There is an issue wherein higher octane feul tends to burn off faster w/o a great increase in power.

Beyond this... How does the car run?

The Honda v6 tends to be harder on plugs then the 4's. You might consider changing plugs. Personaly I like the way Bosch Platinums run in honda. They cost a bit more (about 3$ each) but they will really pep up your honda and maybe your mpg. It might take a few days or a week for your honda to realize you changed the plugs. Dont use any splitfire plugs , interesting Idea but there have been reports of the ends getting chipped and winding up in the cylinder. You may want to consider changeing plugs every 12 months if you do a lot of driving.

I wont bore you with air in tires or air filter talk (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Let me know how you make out.
