Did you insert the key and turn it to start right away, or let it sit
in pos 1 (for all of about a second)?
If you listen closely after turning the key - you will hear what
sounds like a hum for a second or so. This is the fuel pump. These
cars have an electric fuel pump, as opposed to mechanical. If you
turn the key to start in one full motion, there may not be fuel up to
the motor yet. Turn the key to position one, listen for the fuel pump
noise, then turn the key to start. I'll have to listen next time I
start my car - I *think* the fuel pump noise stops after a second or
two, if so - then hit it.
It has happened to me on occasion where it doesn't start immediately.
I turn it back to off, to pos 1, then turn the key to "start".
