Kiellish - That sounded awesome. Your pipe is a little louder than mine. Plus, my transmission is automatic. It was cool to hear the difference. Sounds real good. Any idea how long it took you to reach 75? Well, I have not posted in a while, but I wanted to let you all know. My Vig fixed up great. As a reminder, I was rear ended on my way home from work in September (2 months after I first got my Vig). The ins co. didnt total the car, and the Body shop did a great job. Restored it to %98 of what it was before. I also threw them $100 and had them fix some rust in my passenger side rear quarter panel. Now I dont have any rust on it at all. Im psyched. I have some before and after picks that came out ok. How hard is it to post pics to the Photos section anybody, never done it before. Well, I am finally pulling out of winter here and Im getting ready to shine up my car again. Lookin forward to cruisin around. Im also getting ready to have my timing belt done. I still have not done that yet. Gotta get my stuff together. I cant be slackin on these things. So, hows everyone else doing? How's Sealover doing? Anyone bringing their Vig to a swap meet or car show? Later - Donovan

hey donovan glad to hear your vigor is all repaired. i made that wav file a while ago by putting a mic in my engine compartment, and i was amazed at what i heard. i was really psyched about it so i threw it on here, prob took 11 or 12 secs to get up there never really timed it, i didnt floor it right away though, you can hear when the butterfly opens wide after a few secs. also, yo ucan really hear that secondary door open in the intake manifold about 5k rpm. vigors are awesome.

thats a pretty sweet wav-i think im missing about 30 horse out of mine after hearing that, because first and second seemed to wind out way faster than mine does. And i think my intake is sticking open or something because i lost my 5krpm open mark somehow. so im wondering if that has something to do with why the low end isnt as snappy as i expect it to. i just hit 172k miles on it, and its still running better than ever. doesnt use any oil, but i still have a leak someplace under the intake manifold. during oil changes (before i pull the filter) i notice some fresh oil runs on the pan, and its coming down from the intake side. I read someplace that its just a simple seal someplace under there but i havent actually been able to get in there and look at it. but im not sure im going to worry about it, because today im going to be test driving the acura tsx that was just released. hopefully it will have a purr close to what my vig has. im gonna snap some photos for you guys when i get my summer tires/rims on. couple of changes like JDM headlights(i hit a deer, so i had a good reason to put those in). hey anyone know where i can land a hood? it would be great if it were silver, but it doesnt really matter, insurance is going to paint it either way. i have a drivers side factory headlight left over if anyone's interested. corner lamp, and foglight included with no cracks or chips in the class. it also has fog and low beam PIAA's in it, that i have no use for anymore. let me know, otherwise it will turn into an ebay special. have a good one

when i first bought my vigor it didnt have the 5k rpm mark either. however, after flooring it around and opening it maybe 10 times it loosened i guess and now its much louder and opens freely. its funny you mention how fast it winds out, because i was actually going uphill when i recorded that wav. 2nd usually tops quicker than that, especially on the high revs. throw a k and n cone filter on your car and it will help a lot. the stock air box is very restrictive and sound-deadening. brian

dude i think i know why your car doesnt have the 5k rpm thing. ok first, the butterflies which control that are located under your black plastic 2.5 pgm-fi cover. if you look under that, you dont have to remove it or anything, you can see a thin thing with 2 gaskets around it sandwiched in btw the intake manifold and the throttle body. look back (like close to the firewall) and you'll see the diaphragm assy which controls the openening and closing of these butterflies. http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/acura/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp? inputstate=5&catcgry1=VIGOR&catcgry2=1992&catcgry3=4DR+GS&catcgry4=KA 5MT&catcgry5=INTAKE+MANIFOLD here is a pic of everything, figure 13 is the 5k opening unit. check vaccuum lines, and make sure if you used an aftermarket hose to your cone filter that all vaccuum lines are hooked up to that. there must be a bad vaccuum connection somewhere. start your car and try to open the butterflies by the diaphragm assy near the firewall. it looks like the spring/butterfly assy on the throttle body, just a little smaller. see if you can open it when the car is running, if you cant with moderate pressure, then you have good vaccuum pressure and the whole thing should work. if you can open it, you may have a leak or a bad component somewhere. if youre wondering about how much you should have to push on it to move the spring, disconnect the vaccuum line or try moving it with the car off. let me know what you find im curious as to why it doesnt work. the most plausible reason i think is a vaccuum line was accidentally disconnected or left open when you put your intake on. one interesting thing i found while poking around back there in my vigor is if you disconnect the vaccuum line, open the butterflies and then reconnect the vaccuum line (while the car is running), the diaphragm assy holds the butterflies open. comparable to running off of all 4 barrels instead of just 2 all the time. sucks gas but improves throttle response. > Dude please help!! my vigor use to do that till i put > on a cone filter.did it stop the 5k power mark or is something else > wrong ???? please help Thank-you Tom
