... I've been studying the CR-V on the Web for a couple of weeks now, and
visited my local Honda dealer this afternoon. That was exciting.

...test drive a Milano Red EX AT

...talk and walk

...personal info given

...talk

...salesman walked to the corner of the showroom. (At least he didn't pull
the "Well I have to check with my manager on this" verbal routine.)

The manager DID come back with the salesman -- he wanted to look at my trade
in: a '98 Harley-Davidson FXDL Lowrider. (I LOVE that bike, but I can get
another. The H-D 100th anniversary models will be out in 2003.)

The numbers we decided on for the CR-V looked good, but I told them I
couldn't make the deal today. (I didn't want any accessories , but I DID
want a moonroof installed. They can have an ASC Moonroof installed before
delivery, but that will delay the CR-V coming home by a few days.)

Two weeks ago, I went to the honda.com Web site and requested a contact with
two of the nearest Honda dealers. The dealer 20 miles away responded to my
internet request, and I made an appointment with one of their salesman for
tomorrow afternoon. It's probably a good idea to shop two dealers anyway,
but I'm primarily going to the second dealer to honor my appointment (after
all, they DID respond to the Web request.)

...forgive me for babbling on like an expectant father.

I've been to 4 dealers before I decided to choose one. They were all close
but there was a price variation of 3000$ between them for the same V!!!
There is also a slight variation of price in the accessories depensing if
they are honda or not. I prefered Honda accessories for a simple reason, I'm
sure I won't have to run around the world to get it fixe under warranty if
something breaks.

$1000 to $1500 off the MSRP list price (OPTIONS list price, INCLUDED), is
reasonable to expect for a NEW CR-V with NO-TRADE-IN. If you trade use this
price basis to determine what they REALLY are giving you for your trade.
The LX base models have less mark-up, and the EX 5-Speed can be EXTREMELY
rare in many Areas.
If the dealer has to GET ONE from another dealer expect to pay more !!
Remember, "Consumer Reports" just rated the CR-V the most reliable vehicle
sold in the USA !!
