it will be fine for the first minute or so, then start racing, then
stalling, then racing.... it seems to have to do a lot with the
ambient temperature outside, the warmer (70's) weather makes it worse.
the only codes on the ECU are the TDC Sensor, which i think is there
just because it stalled, but not the cause of the stall.
i've checked out lots of things with the help of my chilton's book,
can't find anything obviously wrong. the plugs are all evenly fouled,
cause it's running lousy, but why is it running lousy?
i've cleaned up the dist cap/rotor (not that old) i don't like the
wires on there but they aren't that old (and the problem is with
every cylinder) i don't have a lot of rocker arm clicking until the
oil get's up there, but no worse then it's been for years. changed
the fuel filter out, changed the water thermostat, recently had the
timing belt/water pump done (160K miles now) i've checked various
sensors and valves and they seem to operate properly. (EGR seems to
work fine when i suck on the tube... the EGR sensor signal is about
right 1.2Volts).....
any ideas before i bring it someplace where they probably will spend
much time trying to figure what's wrong?
Help, Please!
thanks,
michael
